Mama Poppy was taken into foster care on November 10, 2016. She was taken to the vet for a sonogram to determine if she was pregnant and her estimated due date. She received excellent prenatal care in her foster home. She had 3 vet visits and settled in nicely at her foster home before she delivered her puppies on December 9. Poppy has been an excellent mama to her puppies and we have been blessed that they have been very healthy. Poppy and the puppies are in a foster home with older children, dogs of all sizes and cats. The puppies were 6 weeks old on January 20. They are very social, love attention and puppy play, which usually involves their sharp little puppy teeth. Our best guess to breed is Bearded Collie/Schnauzer mix. The father of the puppies was surrendered with Poppy to the shelter. He weighed approximately 40 lbs and appeared to be the same breed as Poppy. Poppy weighs 27lbs, so we are estimating these puppies to be medium size at adulthood...25-45lbs.

The puppies have had been dewormed 3 times, had their first DHPP vaccine, vet exam and fecal. They will be given their 2nd DHPP and a Bordatella Vaccine before Adoption. The Adopter will be responsible for a Rabies Vaccine at 3 months.

The puppies will be available for Adoption on/around 9 weeks (Feb 11). There are 4 male puppies available for Adoption...Jack, Aspen, Rudolph and Aspen. We are accepting applications from local adopters at this time...Lynchburg, Campbell County or a county that neighbors Campbell County. The Adoption Fee is $350 which includes all vetting and Neuter plus microchip at 6 months.

Applications will be reviewed and processed by the foster. A call to the Adopter's vet will be made to verify that all resident animals are spayed/neutered and current with vaccines. We also strongly encourage Heartworm testing and preventative.
