UPDATE: Rio, a six year old Maine Coon, is feeling so much better now! His foster mom has been feeding him three times a day, and spoiling him rotten while he recovers from the trauma of losing his home. This cat is an arm full of love and adoration! He loves his humans, is great with other cats, and is even good with the family dog at his foster home. - - -

This is Rio. He is a six year old neutered Maine coon cat, and he needs help. His background is not as important as what is ahead in his future so we will focus on positives for him and not comment on his condition right now. He is at a vet right now for observation and assessment, but we think part of his problem maybe just plain starvation. He purrs constantly, and he loves to be snuggled! We’ll see what else we need to report following his vet visit. He will be at the shelter until we can find him a foster home or a wonderful place to be adopted or rescued. ***** Update: the vet says Rio is badly dehydrated, so he has been treated to IV fluids today in the hopes he will respond quickly.
