Volunteer

Do you have talents or time that could be put to use? If so, we would love to have you join us. Friends of Campbell County Animal Control (FOAC) exists because of volunteers, fosters, donors, and friends just like you. Join us as we strive to build our future goals: finding more animals forever homes and ending the euthanasia of the animals in Campbell County. Without you, we cannot do this. We need your help to continue succeeding; our volunteers are crucial.

Volunteer Opportunities

Are you a cat person? Or maybe you're a dog person instead? No matter what your preference is, we have a spot for you. The shelter is never empty of tasks that helping hands can assist with, from walking dogs to playing with kittens. Our volunteers are essential for the socialization of all the pets at the Campbell County Animal Care and Control Facility, so that we can set them up for the best life possible regardless of their pasts.

Or, perhaps, you enjoy driving and want to help your community while doing so. If this sounds like you, we would love to have your help transporting our pets to rescues, vet appointments, and other events. In addition, we are always searching for photographers, writers, videographers, trainers, vets, event planners, fundraising gurus, and anything else that will improve the FOAC success rate and the lives of our animals. And if you have any other talents that you think could be useful, just reach out!

Recently, an exciting new volunteer opportunity is available as well! The Lynchburg PetSmart provided the Friends of Campbell County Animal Control with two spaces for cats in their adoption area. With the new "venue" for cats come new tasks for our dedicated FOAC volunteers to complete. Would you be willing to help? All the cages housing adoptable cats at the store need to be cleaned daily, morning and evening. As a result, FOAC is assigned two times a week to clean, and we need the help of volunteers for this. If you would enjoy helping with these tasks, please contact Pat at    pkern7513@msn.com

If you have questions about volunteering with FOAC, please email our Volunteer Coordinator or submit a volunteer application.
