The Foster Care Program is not a means to temporarily own or try out a dog. It is an important and often life-saving alternative to shelter life for the animals. Although we temperament test and provide preventive health care prior to placement, Friends of Animal Control Campbell County cannot guarantee the temperament or health of the dogs placed in foster care.
Please read the following statements about the Foster Care Program and initial next to them to indicate that you understand and agree to abide by them.
Your foster dog or cat may not be house trained. You understand that he or she may have accidents in your home.*
Your foster dog or cat may chew or claw on furniture, clothing, or other objects. You are comfortable working with this behavior.*
If you foster a dog, you agree to keep him or her on a leash or enclosed in a fenced-in yard or home at all times. If you foster a cat, you agree to keep him or her inside the home at all times.*
Representatives of Friends of Animal Control Campbell County may contact or visit you to discuss the foster dog or cat. You understand that you may be asked to complete evaluation forms on the dog or cat. You agree to be entirely honest and forthright regarding the dog’s or cat's behavior, be it positive or negative. *
If medical treatment is needed for the animal you are to contact the Foster Home Coordinator or other representative from Friends of Animal Control Campbell County, and they will assess the problem and decide if medical attention will be provided. *
