BEAU, who came into the shelter as a stray, visited the vet to have his neck injury assessed. While he was at Altavista Animal Hospital, he also was treated to a rabies shot and a heartworm test, so he will be ready to head into a home the minute his hold time is up. BEAU is between three and five years old, and the sweetest collie/pittie mix you can imagine! He is gentle, submissive, and appreciates so much that the animal control officers cared enough about him to take him for medical care. We are glad his neck didn't require surgery, but only thorough cleaning; he is also taking antibiotic for several days to clear up the infection that had set in.
