About Lady: adopted

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Sable
Lady has been the talk of the town since Saturday, January 21, when she made news locally. Lady, a sweet-tempered three-to-five-year-old lab mix, was badly injured when a neighbor dog, starving and feeling the need to protect his meager meal, jumped her and badly messed up her right eye. Lady's family couldn't afford emergency vet care, and opted to sign her over to the animal control folks to be euthanized on Monday. Thanks to the tireless efforts of volunteers in the area and friends on Facebook, Lady was treated to emergency care and overnight accommodations at the Animal Emergency Clinic in Lynchburg. Her eye was saved, and she has antibiotics to take while the healing progresses. Lady was fortunate enough to find emergency foster care, too, but now she needs a new human family to call her own. She is already spayed, and is most likely housetrained. Her adopter will be able to have Lady treated to the best care in town, compliments of the Harper's from the Animal Emergency Clinic. Any vet care that Lady needs in the future will be provided at no cost to the new family. Heartworm preventive, frontline, annual exams, . .. all are included. Because Lady is used to roaming, a fenced in yard will be a necessity to keep her home, unless her family plans to leash walk her and keep her contained in the house.
