Patsy is a gorgeous purebred German Shepherd whose life has been transformed from being used as a puppy machine caring for babies for six years to a beloved house pet who is learning to be comfortable with the sights and sounds of a typical household. She loves being inside now, instead of being stuck in a 10 x 10 outdoor kennel run all day long where she had no human companionship. She has transitioned into a mild-mannered, well-behaved dog at her foster home, and is learning to live with other dogs, share toys, and let the protectior-dog side of her be released for someone else to deal with. Patsy is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm infection, which was a result of her being left outside for years without heartworm preventive. She is responding well to the treatment, but needs to remain on the quiet side for about 60 days while she is treated. We have tested Patsy in a variety of situations, and she has done well with nearly every single dog to whom she has been introduced. She had impeccable manners at the grooming salon where she was treated to a day at the spa last week. She is now gorgeous and smells divine.
