Little and sweet, and just the right size and temperament for a family with kids who is looking for "easy" to round out their menagerie! Consider RIVER, 6 month old mixed breed, who weighs about 25 pounds. From his foster mom, "River is a complete joy to have around. He is a great size and enjoys being carried around. He also loves to play with other dogs and cats. He is crate trained and does well letting me know when he needs to go outside. He loves kids and will do well in any kind of home that lets him be the center of attention." As you can see from the photo, he enjoys snuggling with his big canine foster sister, too!"
This dog is in a foster home and not at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility. We always begin with an application to adopt, and this will be forwarded to the foster family for review. You can find this on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org.
Dogs and puppies who are not spayed/neutered may be adopted directly to residents of Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or counties touching Campbell County. If you live outside this area, arrangements will need to be made through FOAC to spay/neuter the pet prior to placement in a new home. Puppies may be too young for the required spay/neuter; special arrangements may sometimes be made for adoptions outside the area in these cases.

Our process begins with an application, found on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org. Once your application has been received, a volunteer will call the references you list and then will contact you.
