1/11/14: Transferred to SE German Shepherd Rescue! Bishop is a three year old German Shepherd who was surrendered to CCAC because he and his sister, Tabitha, chased and killed livestock, and his family did not want to risk it happening again in the rural area where they reside. He is good with the other dogs with whom he has been tested. Interested in kids, but not sure he's had experience with little ones, so we recommend kids over the age of 10. He has a high prey drive so no cats or other small animals in the home would be best. He is good with the volunteers he has met, but may take a bit to warm up to you. He is current with rabies and HW test. Please come meet this one handsome guy! Dogs and puppies who are not spayed/neutered may be adopted directly to residents of Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or counties touching Campbell County. If you live outside this area, arrangements will need to be made through FOAC to spay/neuter the pet prior to placement in a new home. Puppies may be too young for the required spay/neuter; special arrangements may sometimes be made for adoptions outside the area in these cases. This dog is in a foster home and not at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility. We always begin with an application to adopt, and this will be forwarded to the foster family for review.
