Theodore was brought in because the family who had been caring for him decided he needed a vet to assess the nasty red bleeding "burns" on his paws. We discovered later he had been suffering from chronic bleeding paws for several months, so we were anxious to help him out, since he is such a nice boy. He was a perfect patient at the vet's office and his foster family said he was a champ through the bath he got at their home. He has even been great with all his foster dog siblings and to quote his foster dad: "He is DEFINITELY one of the nicest cats I have ever met!" We did some research and found "pillow paws" on the internet as the condition from which Theo suffers. The good news is that several weeks of doxycycline administered orally has worked to clear up the infection and bleeding paws. We look forward to the final healing dose and then will be finding Theo a home! UPDATE 5/15/14: Today is Theo's big day for surgery! He is going to be so much happier without those hormones dragging him down! Theo is a cat that you dream of adopting, as he will let anyone do anything to him! One to two years old, we've been treating his front paws for chronic infection for two months now. His foster dad holds him like a baby and applies antibiotic ointment and then bandages nightly.
