New stray on Tuesday (6/3) is this champagne-colored English Bulldog/pibble? mix female, about 2 years old. In heat, but has had litters in the past. She came from Pleasant Valley, so we are calling her CALI, for those Valley girls we know and love! (She can roll her tongue--what a cool trait!). She is a favorite of the volunteers and is wonderful with other dogs and kids and loves everyone she meets. She also has excellent table manners as we found out when feeding her cake from a fork. When you hand her a goodie she has a very gentle mouth too. Come to the shelter to meet this lady today and see for yourself how wonderful she truly is. The policy for adopting an unsterilized pet requires that you live in Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or a county touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and spay/neuter the pet yourself within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. Kittens or puppies too young for spay/neuter may be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. We will be happy to help you make arrangements to do this.
