We ask that the pets in your home be current with rabies vaccines, spay/neutered, and seen by a veterinarian for wellness.

Larry is a laid back, gentle yet playful guy. He is loyal to his humans! He knows how to sit and walks great on a leash! He likes other dogs and doesn't seem to mind cats. We are calling him a Great Dane/Lab mix, 2-3 yrs old. Larry won the heart of one of our volunteers and received an invitation to go home as a foster dog! So far, he is enjoying playing with the resident dogs and being in a home and not at the shelter! The policy for adopting an unsterilized pet requires that you live in Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or a county touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and spay/neuter the pet yourself within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. Kittens or puppies too young for spay/neuter may be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. We will be happy to help you make arrangements to do this. This dog is in a foster home and not at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility. We always begin with an application to adopt, and this will be forwarded to the foster family for review. Our process begins with an application, found on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org. Once your application has been received, a volunteer will call the references you list and then will contact you.
