Ace came in as a stray dog, carrying a broken chain, He was found in a farmer's field a couple miles from the shelter where both livestock and the guardian dogs were none too happy about his presence. We are hoping he is reclaimed, but if not, he will be available for adoption soon. The policy for adopting an unsterilized pet requires that you live in Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or a county touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and spay/neuter the pet yourself within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. Kittens or puppies too young for spay/neuter may be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. We will be happy to help you make arrangements to do this.
