2/4/15 Transferred to LHS. Bear is a 4-5 year old un-neutered male of mixed breed. He is extremely loving, friendly and playful. There are no medical records available but he seems in good health, except for a flea allergy. He is used to a large fenced in yard with a doggie door which opens into a basement,were he sleeps. He has lived a rather lonely life even though he grew up with a family and 3 young children. No one really took the time to give him the love and attention he craves. He was living in the backyard of an empty house with a neighbor who made sure he had plenty of food and water. Bear is very accepting of other dogs, as well as cats, but would tend to be the submissive one so he would need to be placed with other loving dogs that would be just as accepting of him. This little guy is lonely and wants, as well as deserves, a loving home more than anything. The policy for adopting an unsterilized pet requires that you live in Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or a county touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and spay/neuter the pet yourself within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. Kittens or puppies too young for spay/neuter may be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. We will be happy to help you make arrangements to do this.
