About Vail-Reclaimed!

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: White
  • Housetrained: Yes
Vail came in as a stray on 2/24/15. He is absolutely a charmer and won the volunteers and ACOs over the minute he entered the door. He knows sit and shake and takes treats very gently. He is super friendly and no doubt his family is missing him so we are hoping they find him soon. If not, he will be available in just a few days. Our process begins with an application! Find it here: www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org ADOPTION GUIDELINES: For animals in care at the Campbell County Shelter, the Code of Virginia stipulates that unsterilized pets may be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and have the pet spayed/neutered within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. For puppies or kittens too young to be spayed/neutered before adoption, you may adopt through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. There is an adoption fee required for this process. We ask that you have a veterinarian on record who can verify that your other pets were/are well-cared for, spay/neutered, and kept updated on their vaccines. We always begin with an application. Pets identified as being “fostered” are available for a fee. Fees range from $50 to $300. Fostered pets are not at the Campbell County Shelter and the animal wardens may not be familiar with those pets. An Adoption Application, available at the Campbell County Shelter, or online at our website www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org, is required prior to adoption. Specific questions are most easily answered by email, info@friendsofcampbellcounty.org, or by leaving a voicemail for one of our volunteers at 434-485-6242.
