Foster homes help us understand what dogs really need and what the best placement will be. 13-year-old Reeba is a Yorky/dachshund mix. Her mom is in the hospital and is not able to take care of her so Reeba is in our care now. She is living currently with three smaller dogs, two humans, parents, and a responsible eight year old child. Foster mom is able to tell us that Reba is definitely more comfortable with women than she is with men although she will tolerate men. And while she tolerates other dogs her own size, she does not like cats, and would probably be much happier if she was all by herself as an only puppy. We do the best we can trying to find a good match, and feel like she would be better if she was the only dog in the home. She is a well cared for senior, housetrained, and likes climbing up on the bed or sofa to snuggle with her humans. Sweet Reeba found herself at the shelter because her mom has health issues and can no longer take care of her. She is precious! She's good with other dogs, great on a leash, housetrained and up to date on vaccines. She was well taken care of. This senior lady has a lot of spunk and is in a great foster home, but she's ready to be adopted. Reeba has enjoyed the company of the young child in her foster home.
