Great Pyrenees (long coat) : : Male : : Adult : : X-Large Learn more about the Great Pyrenees.
Found as a stray wearing a prong collar but no ID otherwise, we are totally stymied by the appearance of this boy, yet no owner inquiring about him. When you are this big, surely someone is missing you and needs you back home! Knight does not appear to have been a working dog or had working experience, because his nails are super long, and he was really very clean. Did he make a big escape and no one noticed he was missing? Was he turned loose and his family forgot to remove his horrible prong collar before doing so? (Unbelievable that he would be wearing an instrument like that which is generally used to control strong dogs during walks.) we can tell you a little more about his personality after working for him for several days. Initially, he was grumbly about people reaching for him in his kennel run so we gave him the option to come out and let us put a leash on him with more space. He is quite willing to have that happen. And he has been receptive to other volunteers now just hooking his leash to his collar even in his kennel run. He is alert to everything going on around. He has not tried to pull away from us, but shows interest in everything. we don’t know about Guardian experience, of course, and we don’t know if he would be good with livestock, but that would be the hope. We’d love to have someone come and visit him and see if he is going to be a good fit.
