Perfect Freya! Adoption fee SPONSORED BY KAREN! When we organize playgroups, we don’t want any dog to feel threatened or bullied, and we watch very carefully to be sure that each dog gets a chance to be the chaser as well as the chased. We also look for matching play styles, or for dogs, who are willing to adapt their play style to the ones they are playing with. Of the ones we have at the shelter, the most adaptable have been dogs like Freya, a beautiful hound mix. Freya can body check like a German Shepherd, bop with her head and mouth (no teeth!) like a lab, and box like a pit bull—adapting to whoever needs playtime! She is super-duper with zoomy time, and then enjoys a good love and quiet time with a human. We are so sad she’s growing up in the shelter, and for that reason, her adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous resident! We feel that being tied to a tree for the first six months of her life was certainly traumatic enough, so for her, we want a home where she will have a fenced yard, and someone to love her without tying her out. Freya did not plan to grow up in a shelter. She was born to be a fun-loving hound, a mix of breeds who love to put their noses to the ground and check out smells, do some running, and then do some snuggling with their humans inside on a soft couch or bed while Zzzzzzing away the evening.
It didn't happen like that for our Freya however, and now she is waiting patiently for her chance to find just the right place to land, and to be someone's devoted companion. ; Freya will need a home with someone willing to provide her with lots of love, time and attention plus good basic training to harness that whirlwind temperament. Freya is spayed, heartworm negative, and is current with her vaccinations. To take Freya home with you, start with an application from our website
