Border Collie / Mixed (medium coat) : : Female : : Senior : : Medium Learn more about the Border Collie.
Update: Blackie is now taking antibiotics to help her get over a pretty advanced urinary tract infection, and the same antibiotics will help the infection from her mouth as well. We are thrilled she tested negative for heartworms, but are treating two tickborne diseases so she is not out of the woods yet. In her future, we see a dentistry and a spay at some point! We have given her her own "suite" so she no longer has to share space with her daughter/sister, and she is thrilled to smell fresh and clean following a groom and bath from one of our friends at the vet hospital! Seniors have our hearts! this one may be a border collie mix with short little legs, but she has a wonderful attitude of middle-age, and she needs us. Her name is Blackie, and we hope to help her find a new name that will fit her but still be familiar to her. We think she is 10 to 12 years old. She is not spayed. She was signed over to the shelter along with a companion, Spot. Blackie loves walking around, sniffing the ground, smelling new things, and marking her territory. Her skin is very sensitive right now due to the large mats on her back, and we are looking forward to helping her feel better following her vet appointment on Tuesday next week. We are hoping someone will be looking for a sweet, easy, walking little girl, who needs a new family! Please stop by the shelter to visit her and see if she might be the right size for you. Gentle personality. (She has been outside only until now.)
