Golden Retriever / Corgi / Mixed (medium coat) : : Male : : Adult : : Medium Learn more about the Golden Retriever.
This is Pete, aka “Short Pete.” Best guess is that he’s a golden retriever mixed with a short-legged breed, possibly corgi(?) He is a sweet, short fella. We are still assessing him because he’s scared at the shelter with all the other dogs barking. (He was happy to give us kisses and smiles for the camera.) We don’t know if he is good with kids or cats. He communicates with growls but has not threatened us in any way. We estimate he is 2 years old and around 35 pounds. His background is unknown, other than that he showed up in the yard of a county resident several weeks ago. He was protective over the resident and was brought to the shelter yesterday. (We are happy to give you training tips and referrals if you have questions about behavior.) Pete is an intact male, with no vaccine history.
