Terrier / Mixed (short coat) : : Male : : Adult : : Medium
UPDATE: Tiny Tank had an extra-special day on Sunday, after proving he can handle outings like a champ! Heidi, one of our regular volunteers, took him for an Adventure Dog hike! This fella is under 30 pounds, wiggly and happy, and loves a good event where he can check out the world as he goes! Here is what his hostess had to say:” Tank is a delightful dog. Despite his name and breed, Tank is small and friendly with just the right amount of energy for a good dog. He was excited to explore the smells and settled down to a good pace and listened closely to me. What a joy! He will make a great companion and does NOT live up to his name. Please change it to something better!” If you’re interested in adopting tiny Tank, start with an application: www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org
WE LOVE TANK!
Tank is a five-year-old neutered terrier mix who has been in our care for well over a month. We are going on month number three actually. Tank arrived in care when he got into a scuffle with another male dog in his household, and tank was the one to leave. He is about 35 pounds, housetrained, Neutered, heartworm tested, and we think the reason he had issues was because there was a tooth broken out of his jaw and embedded in his cheek. We can only imagine the pain that must have caused him! Tank doesn’t trust all male dogs, but he loves every female dog he has met! We think he would be a wonderful addition to a home with another active dog of the female persuasion. Tank lays in his kennel run as close to the kennel door as he can get, and will always bring his blanket over to the corner so that he doesn’t miss any action during the day! He wants to be sure we see him in the morning when we arrive as well! Tank lived with children, but his family was concerned that if he got into a scuffle with another dog, it might spill over and the children might be injured. We are doing what we can to help take find the perfect home! Maybe it is yours!
UPDATE: Tank: This little man is feeling so much better! Since his injured mouth, gums, and teeth have been repaired, he has confidence, can eat easily, and is in no more pain. He is beautifully housetrained and looks forward to the volunteers coming to visit every day. He has found a very special friend at the shelter, Ruckus, and they enjoy playtime together. Tank is 40 pounds, and about seven years old. - - - Tank was brought to the shelter by his family after he got into a tussle with another one of the family dogs. We have seen nothing but acquiescence and gentle interest in other dogs in his interactions at the shelter with other dogs. This little guy is taking antibiotics for his wounds, and is doing great! He is happy to see our volunteers, and let’s getting out for walks. He wags his tail, appropriately place and meet and greets, and has decided the shelter is not such a bad place.
