Lewis “Bubby” went through sterilization surgery and a dentistry this week, and is back home with his foster family recovering. At ten years old, surgery was tough on him, and he is loving being coddled and spoiled during recovery. Bubby weighs a nice-sized eight pounds, is NOT housetrained at his foster home, but we speculate it is because there are several other dogs in the household, and Lewis Bubby is staking his claim by marking. Our experience with dogs who mark in the home is that usually within 30 days after neutering, the behavior can be extinguished. The family is handling this by using belly bands (male diapers) to keep his peeing under control. We believe in honesty when it comes to known behaviors, so want to alert his prospective applicants to this issue. He will be all ready to go to his new mom or dad. We do feel a family with children over the age of 10 will be best for him. Watch for further updates!
