Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) : : Female : : Young : : Medium
This is Basil. She has been in foster care for at least eight months. Until a month ago, she would run away when I came near her, afraid I might try to touch her, stroke her, and —horrors!— might try to pick her up! Suddenly she’s decided everything is fine being handled, and today when I didn’t pay attention to her quickly enough, she reached out to me and asked me to please pet her. Wow! This was an unbelievable act on her part! So now, we are introducing as a lovable, gentle, and extremely adorable cat, ginger princess Basil. There’s no guarantee that at her next home it might take weeks or maybe even months for her to decide everything is going to be fine. If you are a patient person who adores ginger cats, please consider Basil. She is fabulous with other cats and kittens, uses her litter box faithfully, and would love to have a home all of her own.
