Cute, cute, cute. Riley is a wonderful little boy! He's housetrained, neutered and good with other dogs and cats. Riley has been in a foster home for many weeks, recovering from a bulging disk issue that left him paralyzed temporarily. His human did not feel she could deal with the issues of a dog with medical problems, and turned him over to our group for rehoming. Because of the diligence of his foster family, and enforced rest and recovery, Riley is now walking and playing and loves to be held once again.  His disk issue can recur, and it is important for his new family to help limit his jumping, cavorting, and especially his playtime exercises.  No surgery was required to "fix" this issue this time, but it's always a possibility at another time.  In addition to his back problem, it was discovered that he has fluxating patellas ("floating kneecaps") in his back legs, which means his gait is not always steady. This is something that he can live with, but again, the adopter needs to know he may be limited with his energy expenditure.  The good news is that Riley adores being held and snuggled, and loves having a lap to lay on! We will not consider a home with young children, for safety considerations. Ideally, we would love a quiet home with another small quiet dog, (or no dogs) or a very sweet cat, as Riley does enjoy the company of a nice feline friend, too.
