This is Barkley, a five to six year old GSD, Neutered and beautifully housetrained! Barkley’s  family welcomed a new grandbaby to the home, and Barkley will have none of it. He is wonderful  with female dogs, but not males. In a small area with high arousal (barnhunt situation)  he is somewhat reactive towards male dogs. The little female rat terrier in the house bosses him around and he is very good about it. He has a super “come when called” and as far as obedient—he’s excellent! He’s an active boy who will retrieve a ball or frisbee till the cows come home.

Barkley has been trained to “barnhunt,” and it’s a joy to see him get into the chase!  Based on how he is with rats, we are guessing he wouldn't be good with cats. If someone wants a dog to barnhunt, he would be good for that! No small kids, please, and no invisible fences for this fellow! He will be with his current family until he is placed. Barkley does a wonderful FETCH, and a gorgeous SIT and DOWN, and he is extremely well-versed in recall. Come when called his his forte, and he will retrieve a ball or toy for his human over and over, til he needs to be told to stop.

His mom has a new grandbaby and it worries Barkley no end to hear the baby cry and fuss, so we are asking for a baby-free  home, please! He has not been around toddlers at all, so a home with attentive children over the age of ten will be best.  If you love big, gentle, supervisory, and knowledgeable dogs, BARKLEY is one that you would love!
