Callen arrived in our care as a stray, and we were thrilled when his hold time was up, so we could get him to a vet. Unfortunately, this handsome boy is heartworm positive, and needs to be treated for heartworms over the next few months. under the care of a veterinarian. Callen is now in a foster home, and will be made part of the family until we find him a home. His heartworm treatment will follow him when he is adopted.
Callen is the sweetest, happiest dog I believe I have ever met. He looks at you with such loving eyes. He is also the most excited dog I believe I have seen. He is an Aussie, so energy is his middle name. We are working with him in controlling his exciteability all while trying to boost his confidence. He still likes to jump on you, but his corrections and/or training must be gentle, as he is more than submissive. We do not know his background, so we are unsure if he was an outdoor dog or not, but one thing is for sure, he LOVES being indoors. At any given time, during these cold days, he is laying across the floor heat register. He goes out to potty and usually wants right back in. You are missing out on this awesome wiggle butt greeting you when you get home.
