Gordon is a fabulous boy who was rescued from the county pound in Appomattox County. His dear beloved owner had passed away and the family basically threw away Gordon, not wanting to care for him or take responsibility for him. Gordon is safe in the care of the folks with Friends of Campbell County. He will be neutered on Wednesday and can go home following that visit to the vet. He was given a groom by a fabulous professional groomer who said although he appeared to have no idea what she was doing to him, he did learn to handle it just fine. He is friendly with everyone he meets; he loves other dogs and getting to be with humans. He apparently was taught to jump up with his front paws on someones shoulders, as he does it quite naturally and without hesitation, but very gently. He is a remarkable boy! He is also desperately trying to be housetrained, although from all appearances (from the condition of the tangles and mats he sported when we took him in), he was kept outside. Gordon is about two years old and weighs around 60 pounds. Big boy, big heart, big needs . . .. This dog is in a foster home and not at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility.
