About Tanuki

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Merle
  • Housetrained: Yes
Tanuki loves to play! In the world of stereotypes, he fits the bill of "fickel playboy" all the way! As long as he has a toy and a purpose, he finds happiness and joy in what he does. On a recent outing where he was sharing tennis balls with two other dogs, he had no issues sharing with both a spayed golden retriever or a neutered male Aussie. He loves having active canine friends keep him going, and he loves the challenge of playing with more than one dog at a time. Tanuki is two years old, neutered, and housetrained. He is currently living in a household with three other dogs, and finds that unless he is challenged and exercised daily, he goes stir-crazy. He would love an active home where his new family will appreciate his drive to work. At 35 to 40 pounds, he is a nice size for agility or even for flyball, and he is proud of his abs. But watch out for him if he does wind up in flyball--we've all seen those intense flyball Aussies and know what they can do on a course. When he isn't chilling at home with family, Tanuki is ghostrwritng a book about herding breeds and the challenges they can present. He is looking for a publisher and illustrator. Please contact us if you can recommend either, or if you would like to meet Tanuki, and play ball with him! This dog is in a foster home and not at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility.
