About Casey

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Black
  • Housetrained: Yes
10/31/13 transferred to rescue: Andy in Henricho. CASEY is a two year old German Shepherd who was adopted on trial a month ago by a dog trainer who trains canines for the prison system. He knew when he took her home to be his companion dog that the former owners reported she was dog aggressive, but he was hopeful she could get past it. Unfortunately she not only is dog aggressive, she also has high prey drive and attempted to kill his beloved cat. And, when we did temperament assessment and got her riled up with just humans around, we saw the hint of something that could have escalated. The only family who will be suitable for CASEY is one who has no other pets and is a firm leader, not tolerating stupid behavior or silliness. She is a dog who cannot go to a dog park for fun, camping with friends, or on hikes unleashed. It is important that prospective adopters are aware of her personality prior to falling in love.
