We ask that the pets in your home be current with rabies vaccines, spay/neutered, and seen by a veterinarian for wellness.

1/11/14 transferred to Virgina GSD Rescue in Amelia and then to Fairfax. Tabitha is a three year old German Shepherd who was surrendered to CCAC because she and her brother, Bishop, chased and killed livestock, and her family did not want to risk it happening again in the rural area where they reside. She is good with the other dogs with whom she has been tested. Interested in kids, but not sure she's had experience with little ones, so we recommend kids over the age of 10. She has a high prey drive so no cats or other small animals in the home would be best. She is good with the volunteers she has met, but may take a bit to warm up to you. She is current with rabies and HW test. Please come meet ?this beautiful girl! Dogs and puppies who are not spayed/neutered may be adopted directly to residents of Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or counties touching Campbell County. If you live outside this area, arrangements will need to be made through FOAC to spay/neuter the pet prior to placement in a new home. Puppies may be too young for the required spay/neuter; special arrangements may sometimes be made for adoptions outside the area in these cases. This dog is in a foster home and not at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility. We always begin with an application to adopt, and this will be forwarded to the foster family for review.
