Lexi is about five years old and is suffering from vision loss to the point she can see very little other than light and dark. She is so precious! Her eyes were matted shut and the hair on her face had sealed any hopes she had of sight. She was such a brave trooper while the volunteers gave her a bath and tried to remove the mats from her eyes. Her new foster mom, who adores the little ones, gave her a bath, clipped the hair far away from her eyes, gave her another bath, and after all that, Lexi was sitting on her bed, wagging her tail, and being quite happy to be the princess. She has a whole pack of little dogs her own size to follow around and was doing a great job navigating the back yard when I left her. She ignores the cats in the home. I am always amazed at the adaptability of dogs, given the opportunity. She has been shown love from her foster mom and has undertaken a complete transformation in her looks. Consider that Lexi has vision loss and will need some special treatment for her eyes for some time. She has been spayed and her foster mom says she is impeccably housetrained. This dog is in a foster home and not at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility. We always begin with an application to adopt, and this will be forwarded to the foster family for review.
