11/5/14: Transferred to Green Dogs Rescue. TIMBER is a 2 to 3 year old beagle-sized mix with the softest coat in the world! He has the most handsome sparkling blue eyes! he was found hiding as a stowaway on a pontoon boat in Timber Lake. He appears to be a lost pet, rather than a professional stray, because he is calm, well loved, and well socialized. He shared a kennel run with another dog and they did well together. Hold time is up and now this 25 pound pocket pup would like to go home with you. The policy for adopting an unsterilized pet requires that you live in Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or a county touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and spay/neuter the pet yourself within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. Kittens or puppies too young for spay/neuter may be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. We will be happy to help you make arrangements to do this. This dog is in a foster home and not at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility. We always begin with an application to adopt, and this will be forwarded to the foster family for review. Our process begins with an application, found on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org. Once your application has been received, a volunteer will call the references you list and then will contact you.
