"Life is Awesome!" I'm pretty sure that is what Carter is saying every morning and every evening. He has a true rags to riches story and the concept of being warm at night, getting love from people and having his own dog bed is like the greatest thing that's ever happened to him. He absolutely LOVES other dogs and is learning to trust people and really loves to have his ears rubbed and get lots of pets and attention. Carter is 1-2 years-old, about 40 pounds, and is a golden retriever/ hound mix. He has great social skills with other dogs, and is so sweet and gentle with people. Wonderful dog! Carter will do best in a home with another dog, and he would LOVE a fenced-in yard (no invisible fences for this boy, please!) . He is crate trained and mostly housetrained too. UPDATE: Carter's issue: He needs to be a follower, have other dogs around, and have plenty of time to warm up. He loved playtime with another shy foster dog. CARTER has excellent social skills with other dogs, but if he thinks you are the cause of his discomfort or pain, he will wimp out, cry like a baby, and go into seclusion.
