ACE is such a handsome boy--and he wants only to please his person! One of the volunteers had the opportunity to give him a chance to try agility moves, and discovered how much he loved being directed and then praised. We think Ace is a Dutch shepherd mix, because of his desire to please and his work ethic. He is wishing someone would please take him home and give him a chance to show his stuff as a working dog. He is about two years old, and although he came in as a stray, his family knew he was at the shelter and didn't bother to come get him. He is great with kids and good with other dogs. This dog is in a foster home and not at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility. We always begin with an application to adopt, and this will be forwarded to the foster family for review. Go to www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org The policy for adopting an unsterilized pet requires that you live in Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or a county touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and spay/neuter the pet yourself within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. Kittens or puppies too young for spay/neuter may be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. We will be happy to help you make arrangements to do this. Our process begins with an application, found on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org. Once your application has been received, a volunteer will call the references you list and then will contact you.
