About OG

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Fawn
  • Housetrained: Yes
Poor OG! It's not his fault his owner lost his housing and now has to share a home with a family number who said he had too many dogs. But it is OG who is paying the price for it. Nine years old, not neutered, appears to be house trained. Loves going for walks around the neighborhood, despite his vision impairment. A bit too interested in the cat in the lobby cage. UPDATE 5/11/15: OG is very special and it seems he has been wanting another dog in his life to help comfort and guide him. He met lively LADYBUG, a spayed one year old who gave him a run for his money. He may have vision impairment, but he can play! Interested in this nine year old bully mix? Our process begins with an application! Find it here: www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org At this time, the application is not compatible with most portable devices. ADOPTION GUIDELINES: For animals in care at the Campbell County Shelter, the Code of Virginia stipulates that unsterilized pets may be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and have the pet spayed/neutered within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. IF YOU LIVE OUTSIDE OUR LOCAL ADOPTION AREA: you may adopt, but the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. For puppies or kittens too young to be spayed/neutered before adoption (under six months of age), you may adopt through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. There is an adoption fee required for this process. We begin with an application. Go to www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org. We ask that you have a veterinarian on record who can verify that your other pets were/are well-cared for, spay/neutered, and kept updated on their vaccines. Pets identified as being “fostered” are available for a fee. Fees range from $50 to $300. Fostered pets are not at the Campbell County Shelter and the animal wardens may not be familiar with those pets. Again, we start with an application. Foster parents will contact the applicants about their applications. A meeting would be set up once the application has been received and approved. Specific questions are most easily answered by email, info@friendsofcampbellcounty.org, or by leaving a voicemail for one of our volunteers at 434-485-6242.
