This is “Wish,” one and a half years old, and adopted from us several months ago. Due to changes in the adopter’s household, Wish needs to come back to us in the next couple months. She is such a sweet lady! Here is her bio as written by her current mom:

“She is a very friendly dog with a unique personality. She gets along with dogs of all sizes and loves people. She enjoys walks and going to the dog park. She likes the water hose and mud puddles. I believe she has some anxiety when you leave, as she picks up a toy and shakes it around. She sleeps with me in my bed. Shes a little overweight now (she weighs 66 pounds.) I was able to have her in the yard with no leash she listens well. She has to trust you first. So, I treated her well she follows me around everywhere. You don't have to yell at her just tell her no she will listen if you continue to monitor her. She responds to being treated like she's a child. She still will try to chase squirrels or trucks, mail trucks, ups, FedEx. So still needs help with this. She still tries to go in the trash can, so she still needs monitoring in bathroom and kitchen areas she listens when you catch her doing it. She doesn't use the bathroom in the house if she's taken out properly multiple times during the day. She's very high energy and requires a lot of stimulation.”

The family was kind enough to have an Embark DNA test done so it helps us understand what we are dealing with. As you can see, her top two breeds are both herding dog breeds, which would explain her desire to chase and run. you can’t take that out of the Dog no matter what you provide for stimulation, so you would need to know that this dog must have a family willing to work with her needs. This is not a dog that can sit around and be beautiful for 24 hours a day. She wants to work!

If you think you have the background and the environment for her, please start with an application from our website. www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org.
