Update from her foster mom, 11/6: Penny is a 4 month old female shepherd mix, about 25 pounds.  She is housetrained and crat trained.  Penny happily goes in her crate for meals, treats, and her afternoon Kong and spends the night sleeping there quietly. She is also crated with a hard chew toy when her foster mom needs to go somewhere. She is a fast learner and knows “go outside,” “go in the house,” and comes when called.  She knows “sit” and is learning “paw” and “down.” She is calm and quiet when putting on her harness and leash. Penny is a typical puppy, full of puppy shenanigans.  She will sleep on the couch when tired and loves all her toys, but otherwise, keep an eye on your slippers, bottle of water, remote control, etc. Penny is very focused on her human and will ask for a little “lap time” now and then but she will bark at strangers so we are working on her socialization. She is generally good with other dogs, lives with two in her foster home and pays no attention to the chickens and horse who live outside her fenced yard.

Original post: Found as a stray, Penny (named Spinner before we got to know her)  is well socialized and mostly housetrained already. She is learning to enjoy crating at her foster home where she hangs out with two other dogs and is a great houseguest..
