Sad story for JAX: 1-1/2 years old, and was signed over by the third owner, who had him only a couple of months (landlord discovered he was the third dog and only two are allowed.) We are going to share his origin, because we all get pretty tired of people telling us they will “just go buy a puppy” instead of considering a rescue. Jax was originally purchased from a local pet store. (It blows my mind that people pay $1000 to $3000 for a pet store pup.) We are really glad that Jax ended up at our shelter, because he is being treated like ALL dogs should be treated: with booster vaccines, and a neuter in the works. We think he is cute, but we are aware that his working dog breed mix of Australian shepherd/Australian cattle dog means he needs a special home. Does this make Jax different than any other rescue dog? No, it doesn’t. He was just one of the unfortunate Pups who ended up at a shelter. This mixed breed dog has wonderful social skills with other dogs, and tolerated Jasper’s attempts to get him to play, although they have very different play styles. Jax walks great on leash and is learning to be comfortable with new people. We don’t know if he has been exposed to cats or young children. If you can offer a working type home to Jax, please start an application found on our website at www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org
