River is a three year old cocker spaniel-poodle mix (Cockapoo) with love to give!

He has a beautiful coat that glistens like the sheen of black velvet and a devoted personality! He is needy and clingy, wanting to be close to his person which makes sharing his space and time with other animals difficult. He is fine with the cats in the household which is odd due to the fact he has a high prey drive for squirrels, rabbits, etc. He is crate trained, but reluctantly goes, so that most times he will hide under beds etc to escape the crate and can be difficult to retrieve from hiding places. He is housetrained and has never marked in the home. We are not rushing into a placement for him as we want to make sure his new family is well suited so he does not have to be uprooted yet again. Due to his activity level and high prey drive, we require a fenced yard. He is extremely smart and training is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to help him learn to settle and overcome some insecurites. He knows sit, down etc. He is quick to learn, but his attention span is just as quick to leave.
