This is Bonnie, formerly known as Tifany. Bonnie was adopted and spent two weeks in her new home before her family felt like it was not going to be a good match forever. (It seems Bonnie may have played too hard with the other dog in the household.) Bonnie loves her new name, and was even happy to be back at the shelter where she recognized the kennel runs, the food bowls, and the Kuranda beds. She was excited to see the newest residents, a litter of three puppies. Bonnie is about five years old, and when she was spayed, the vet told us it appeared she had had several litters in the past. Some dogs are just naturally good moms, and we were excited when Bonnie was good with the puppies because they definitely needed some nurturing last night. Bonnie is currently hanging out in foster home with three other dogs, and has fit in well with them. She is very submissive, and nudges them to try to get them to play with her. We will continue assessing her, but welcome applications from families who have fenced yards. (A Fenced yard is essential for her adoption to be successful.) She was exposed to the cats earlier, and did not care anything about them. We think she would be fine with children five years and older, and needs the activity that children would provide. She is not an affectionate dog, preferring independence and her own space. She does not do well when it comes to traveling, as she is terrified of getting into a car. She will be happiest if her new people have low expectations about her socializing with humans and other dogs, and are fine with a dog that just hangs out rather than going to playdates or a dog park. That's just not her personality. She is not a lap dog, and not one that must be in your face or in your presence She is house trained, and enjoys both indoor and outdoor time.
